AI answers in this demo are simulated.
Everything in HourBank works without AI. AI only adds insight: nothing it writes reaches a client without your approval, and it never changes a balance by itself, except that you can choose to hold entries that look outside the retainer for your review.
Off until you switch it on. While it is off nothing is read, sent or stored, and every AI screen is hidden.
Classifier
Runs on your own server and learns from your corrections (0 so far). No key, no cost, nothing is sent anywhere. Text only.
A hosted decision model that gives each answer with a confidence. Needs a key from OpenRouter or TypeSafe. Can read screenshots (Experimental).
Uses the provider in Perfex AI settings and asks it for strict answers. Text only.
Leave the model and server address empty to use the defaults of the chosen service. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again. Save before you test.
What AI does
Each counted time entry gets a type of work such as Support or Design. Change it with one click and the built-in classifier learns from that.
Each entry is checked against what the retainer includes and flagged when it may be outside it.
Flags vague time notes that a client would see, and offers a clearer wording for you to approve.
Drafts a short plain-language summary of each billing cycle for you to edit and approve. Needs a provider in Perfex AI settings.
Shows clients who often use more hours than planned or hardly use them, and drafts an email you can edit and send.
A question box on the dashboard, answered with fixed safe queries. The AI never writes SQL.
In the setup wizard, describe your business in one sentence to get matching plans and packs.
Labels a client request or ticket as a bug, change, new feature or question, checks scope and rates urgency. A hint for staff only.
Draws a rectangle around the part of a screenshot that the client describes. Needs Jev and screenshots turned on.
Adds up to 2 pictures attached to a task when judging its category and scope. Needs Jev and screenshots turned on.
Up to 2 attached pictures per request, resized to fit. TypeSafe labels pictures as not yet production ready, so results are only hints. Needed for screenshot pinpoint and visual context.
When the scope check finds work outside the retainer
The entry is counted as usual and a notice appears in the hours history.
An entry judged outside the retainer with enough confidence waits in a review list and is not counted until you approve it. The built-in classifier is modest and rarely reaches the confidence needed; Jev is better at this.
Cost
Hosted AI pauses for the rest of the month when the cost reported by the provider reaches this amount. OpenRouter reports cost; TypeSafe does not, so only tokens are shown for it. Entries are counted normally while AI is paused.

What is sent
Only when a hosted engine is chosen, and only for the features that are switched on:
Never sent: client contact details, invoice amounts or any other files.
The built-in classifier runs on your own server and sends nothing.
